Talkative Tuesday: Thrift to be Tied

I hope everyone had a fantastic Independence day, I know I did!. I have recently delved into the sport of what is known in the fashion bloggers world as thrifting. It is shopping for gently used items in a thrift or resale store such as Goodwill or Unique Thrift. I call it a sport because it takes oodles of patience, time and tenacity to sort through what is for the most part junk to find a diamond in the rough. But all the cool bloggers are doing it, so I decided to give it a try and see what I could find. I have to admit on my first foray, I struck personal gold, although I didn’t stick with T Minus, T Plus, $10 challenge, I didn’t go over $50 for several items of apparel. I found dresses, a handbag (which is alluding to be Prada, still researching that) and a lovely cotton kimono that will one day make an appearance on this blog as something other than a robe. I am giddy with excitement on when I can go on my next hunt. I have always loved a good bargain but this is a new thrill that peaks my curiosity. I have officially joined the ranks of thrifters everywhere…make room for a newbie, lol.

About Minister of Style

I am a mom of 6, and a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I love fashion and always have but sometimes my vocation and my hobby clash. On this blog, I hope they can learn to co exist together. I also blog about my beautiful daughter, Tatiana who happens to have Down syndrome. She is the joy of my life and it is my prayer that people will come to know that people with Down syndrome are just that people first, the condition is secondary and should be treated as such.
